2021 Domaine Du Trapadis La P'tite Côte
Rhône, France
Cotes du Rhône AOC

Trapadis is derived from the word “Trapalas” which means, “hole,” in Provençal. The hole refers to a natural spring, which provides water for the surrounding hamlet. Today the estate covers 23 hectares of vines that are worked without herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The average age of the vines is 35 years with the oldest parcel, Trapadis, having been replanted in 1922. 100% Grenache Noir from 25 y.o. vines in the lower plain of Rasteau. Grapes are manually picked, lightly crushed and fermented in cement vats with natural yeasts, including a 15 day skin maceration and aging 18 months on fine lees. Like many of his contemporaries in the region who are turning to low-intervention winemaking, the wine is lighter and more lifted in style than the heaving behemoths of traditional southern Rhône legend. Crunchy red fruits, ripe cherries, pepper, brambly garrigue and a touch of fine-grained tannins that envelop the palate with a smooth mouthfeel and great freshness. Enjoy with a plate of charcuterie, barbecued pork chops, charcoal grilled chicken, pizza or pack it up with a cold cut sandwich and hit up your favourite picnic spot.

2021 Domaine de Séailles Presto Blanc
Côtes de Gascogne, France

Domaine Séailles is one of the pioneers of organic viticulture in the Côtes de Gascogne region of Southwest France. A family-owned estate since 1961, Séailles is now run by Jean Labérenne, who lead the domaine to Ecocert organic certification in 1997, swearing off all chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and synthetic chemical products. The Domaine Séailles Presto is made from 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Sauvignon Gris - all organic grapes. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. It's light, it's bright, it's full of freshness and it stands out from a sea of bleh that usually comes from this region. There's generous dollops of white grapefruit and tart white peach with a sort of elderflower liqueur vibe lingering in the background and a combo of grassiness and saltiness on the finish. It has a slight sense of sharpness across the lean, tense palate but it never loses itself. Have it with grilled white fish, a light salad, pasta aglio e olio or even a bag of chips if you're not in the mood for cooking and cleaning.

2021 Domaine de la Femme Allongée Cuvée Camprigou
Languedoc, France
Saint-Chinian AOC

Mont Caroux in Saint-Chinian is nicknamed “La Femme Allongée” or “The Elongated Woman” because of its noticeable shape that can be seen from the Mediterranean Sea. This young estate started in 2007 by Jean-Paul, with vineyards growing in the shadow of the mountain on parcels of limestone and red clay. Before becoming Domaine de la Femme Allongée, Bruno Gracia operated Domaine de Tabatau. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mouvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault. Long macerations, blending the free-run juice with the pressed juice and aged in tank creates a wine with a perfumed nose of red fruit and a surprisingly fresh palate with black pepper and the herbal garrigue the south of France is synonymous with. Pair with cassoulet, braised veal or beef stews, or enjoy with cured saucisson sec and hard cheeses.
