Domaine des Corbillieres Griottines Gamay Loire

Domaine des Corbillières, Les Griottines, 2019

AOC Touraine, Loire, France

Dominique is the 4th successive generation of the Barbou family to helm the excellent estate in Touraine. Dominique's grandfather Fabel was the first to bring Sauvignon Blanc to their neck of the woods, having planted the varietal on a whim and discovering it's aptitude for the region. The domaine currently counts 28 hectares under its name in the village of Oisly, arguably the best terroir in Touraine.
This is a super tasty, very fresh Gamay with a good amount of structure. Tastes like candied raspberry, strawberry leaf, cold spring morning. Low intervention; fermentation with native yeasts and minimal sulphur added. Full of character and delicious black currant, raspberry, and violet vibes. Serve chilled!
Food pairings: super quaffable on its own, great with a mixed grill,  soft, full-flavoured cheese and fatty charcuteries
