Talk about Sicilian summer in a glass! A beautiful and inviting blend of Chardonnay (70%), Grillo and Viognier (15% each) from the organically farmed, historic family vineyards of the Di Giovannas in Contessa Entellina, western Sicily.
A delicious mix of fruity and savoury elements, expressing ripe fruits like honeydew melon, white peach, lemon and hints of honey. There's some savoury Mediterranean herbs in the mix with considerable minerality (volcanic soils to thank for that) over top of the nice roundness and mouthfeel here. Despite the roundness from the Chardonnay and the pleasant honey notes, this definitely screams warm weather vibes.
Recommended as an aperitif but there's some fun food pairings to explore like lobster rolls, poached shrimp, Insalate di Mare or a bucatini pasta con le sarde with all that delicious fresh sardine, fennel, pine nut and saffron.
