2019 Calalta Davvero Riesling
Veneto, Italy

Calalta’s Davvero is a Rhine Riesling full of thirst crushing texture. Opalescent amber in color, its complexity reveals notes of ripe fruit alongside balsamic hints of camphor. Fresh, savory and enveloping, it closes with a pleasant tannic sensation thanks to a10 day skin maceration. Notes of apricots and rosemary. High minerality balanced with exotic fruits aroma like mango and passion fruit. Racy, tenacious, and fresh to death.

2020 Koerner Pigato Vermentino
Clare Valley, Australia

Biological brothers Damon and Jono make this amber fever dream in picturesque Clare Valley. Friend brothers Christian and Dave own Paradise Grapevine in usually cold grey Toronto. In Christian's words, Dave would say "oi this wine cracking" and "what crystalline flabour" and no, that b is no typo. Pigato in my mind means little spoiled piglet and that's how you might feel when you drink it. It's nice to be a tiny royal piggy sometimes! This is a dry jovial wine that smells like peonies and has a light bite like a candied orange peel. Unfined, unfiltered, naturally fermented, 20 days on skins.

NV Domaine Brand & Fils Flèche Saignant Crémant
Alsace, France

Domaine Brand, just 10 hectares in size, is located in the northern most-part of the Alsace wine region, about 20km west of Strasbourg. The vines average around 40 years in age (with some up to 70 years old), and are grown predominantly on clay and limestone, with some gray marl. Everything is done manually in the vineyards following biodynamic and organic principles– no shortcuts, just lots of hard work! The wines are vinified with their natural yeasts, and no additions are used at all, including sulfites. Fresh and floral nose, elegant and fine bubbles. Brut and natural, it expresses all the flavours and freshness of a great wine on the palate with no residual sugar. Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris with a touch of Pinot Noir - is it orange? Maybe not, but we don't care, it's electric!
