2020 San Lorenzo Verdicchio 'di Gino'
Marche, Italy

From Italy's cult Verdicchio producer. Vigna di Gino is named after winemaker Natalino’s father who is well known for producing some of Le Marche's best Verdicchio. The vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically. This cuvee is 100% Verdicchio fermented with native yeasts and aged in cement. Great citrus like acidity with the classic nutty finish of Verdicchio. Hazelnuts, stone fruit and gorgeous salinity. We love this with seafood risotto; prosciutto and Marcona almonds; caramelized onion and spinach quiche with frisée salad; porchetta sandwich with roasted vegetables.
2020 Novaripa Agronika Passerina
Abruzzo, Italy

Abruzzo, on Italy's eastern coast along the Adriatic, consistently delivers some of the country's most loved and inspired wines. Centuries of autonomy from the influence of Italy's other highly regarded winemaking regions means Abruzzo is a standalone in the country's mosaic of impressive wines. Passerina is an ancient and traditional white grape that has been used in central Italy for hundreds of years. Novaripa's co-op of 200+ organic and sustainable grape-growers is at the heart of this crowd-pleasing white. Ripe Bosc pear and notes of lime hit the nose. Mid-weight and fruit driven on the palate, with pear and lime notes mixing with ripe white grapefruit. There's some acidity here but this is a pretty textbook example of Passerina, which is a fairly low acid wine. Balance is achieved with a salty tang on the finish that is characteristic of the minerality. A salty, citrusy sipper with great texture and drinkability. An every day drinking beauty of exceptional value if there ever was one.
2021 Barraco Fior di Bianco
Marsala, Sicily

Nino Barraco's wines come with an uncanny sense of place. With each swirl and sip, they transport you to Marsala; the warmth, the breeze, the golden light and the sense that the sea is never too far away. They are savoury, sun-kissed wines that, like Nino, have a lot to say.

From Nino's youngest vines planted over sand, this is mostly Grillo, with a little Catarratto and a touch of Zibibbo in the mix. The grapes were fermented on the skins for just a day, before being pressed off to vats for a short rest. The result is a pretty and perfumed wine that takes you straight to the Sicilian seaside with its citrus, wildflowers, sea salt and brine. A wonderful aperitif that has a natural affinity with anything from the sea.
