2019 Bodega Pirineos 3404
The fruit of Bodega Pirineos’ 3404 come from hard work and respect for the traditional Moristel and Garnacha varieties, which have been combined with magnificent Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Named after Pico Aneto, a peak that rises to a dizzying altitude of 3,404 meters, soaring over the Somontano appellation. A lifted fresh and fruity red wine that allows for the full expression of Somontano to come through. Intense aroma with sweet notes of ripe red fruits, strawberries, wild flowers, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and red berries, and spice. Velvety texture and fresh, with soft tannins on the palate.
2020 Victoria Ordóñez La Pasajera Verdejo
DO Rueda, Spain
From sustainable female winemaker Victoria Ordóñez. The Pasajera comes from the 25 year old La Secca vineyard located near Valladolid - the best terroir in the Rueda where without doubt the most beautiful Verdejos' come. Hand harvested Verdejo fermented with only the free run juice. Racked by gravitational force and aged on it's own lees for 6 months in stainless steel. What immediately stands out is the great acidity. Passion fruit and citrus aromas. Crisp and tenacious, with bright citrus acidity. Lime and orange-peel, stony finish. Like licking a rock - delicious.
Fattoria San Lorenzo 2018 Rosso Piceno ‘di Gino’
Le Marche, Italy
Family operation dedicated to the production of organic and biodynamic wines in the farm that Natalino Crognaletti inherited from his father Gino, whom in his turn had inherited it from his father Enrico. Natalino lives on the estate with his wife, son, mother and the numerous farm animals for which he names his wines. 60% Montepulciano and 40% Sangiovese all hand harvested from organic vineyards of 4 hectares in Ostra Vetere, with southern exposure. Native fermentation. Aromatic, lifted, and fresh. Blackberries and spices on the nose. Tons of sour cherry. Super easy going tannins. Serve it with a little chill.
