A classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (5% each) with a light oak treatment. The aromatics are strong and inviting with fresh dark cherries, tobacco, violets and subtle mineral characteristic, owing to the sandy gravelly soil where these vines grow. Gorgeous tannins with velvety silkiness and a lovely deft touch of acidity keep things feeling fresh and finessed. The long finish is the final piece of this delicious puzzle. This silky treasure is rich and round and a 2019 Wine Enthusiast Best Buy.

Notes from Rocco, the winemaker: “I Toscani” is the first wine of our estate. It was born as a tribute to a great man who loved sharing, happiness and good wine: my grandfather Fedele. He was a bright man who loved to be in good company but also taught us that good results derive from hard work and constant research. During the 40’s, Fedele was working as a photographer for the newspaper “Corriere della Sera” and realized the logo of “Rotofoto” - the first Italian image bank - which served as an inspiration for the label. Grapes used are Syrah and Teroldego. These grapes even being distant relatives are capable of expressing different and unique features. In order to provide further freshness, these grapes are fermented together with a small percentage of Petit Manseng and Greco grapes. In so doing, we have obtained a perfectly balanced wine with scents of intense black fruit derived from Teroldego and sweet spices from the Syrah.
