Chateau Laballe, Brume Rosé, 2021

Chateau Laballe, Brume Rosé, 2021

Gascony, France
IGP Côtes de Gascogne

Brume is the French term for the light haze that hovers over the vineyards in the mornings and this wine strives to achieve the same levity and ethereal lightness. Chateau Laballe is currently undergoing biodynamic conversion and are located on the unique sandy soils - nom Sables fauves - of the Bas Armagnac. These soils have a very red to orange colour indicating iron oxide deposits, translation: get ready for a wave of minerality and freshness.

This is a thirst-quenching, dry rosé that sends waves of pink grapefruit, blackcurrant and oceanic salinity soaring out of the glass. From the hue of the wine, you'd probably never guess this was Cabernet Franc and Merlot that results in 11.5% ABV of super refreshing deliciousness. A crisp and nicely structured rosé that fits the bill as an aperitif or a classic accompaniment to a medley of grilled meats and seafood.
