Chateau Laballe, Terres Basses, 2020

Côtes de Gascogne, France

The Laballe Estate is located on a rare terroir: the tawny sands, famous for the production of Armagnac. The vines cover 17 hectares on clay and light soils. The history of the estate began in 1820 when the family acquired the château. The wine is made from three grapes—Colombard, Ugni Blanc (a.k.a. Trebbiano Toscano), and Gros Manseng. Imagine the ripest, juiciest yellow grapefruit or pomelo that you can. The freshest piece of fruit with no bitter or pithy elements. If this sounds appealing to you, then buy this bottle immediately! For pairings, bivalves or shellfish like clams, scallops, and shrimp but also the perfect first glass to get your palate salivating.
