Domaine Bulliat, Bibine, 2021

Beaujolais, France
Beaujolais-Villages AOC

Noël Bulliat and his son Loïc, who joined the Domaine in 2005, run this family estate that covers 27 ha in 8 different appellations in the heart of the Beaujolais region. It all started in 1978 when Noël bought 4 ha of Beaujolais Villages straight after having graduated from viticultural school. The estate started switching to organic practices in 2010 and was officially certified in 2013.

This is 100% Gamay, sourced from vines with an average age of 20 years, farmed organically and biodynamically. Fermentation is done in stainless steel followed by 4.5 months of aging on fine lees in concrete tanks. Bibine is a fresh, light-bodied red with bright cherry and raspberry flavours backed by a nice acidity and underpinnings of anise, mocha and floral flavours that linger through the herb-tinged finish. Certified weeknight classic!
