Casa de Cello, Terroir Mineral, 2018

Amarante sub-region, Vinho Verde, Portugal

Vinho Verde is located within the Minho region of northern Portugal, the largest wine producing region in the country. The winery, Quinta de San Joanne, is located in the Amarante sub-region of Vinho-Verde just 25km from the Atlantic Ocean and where the coastal climate is mild and damp.
The 2018 Terroir Mineral is a testament to its name. On the nose, you’ll find subtle hints of under ripe pear, yellow apple and stone. The palate is encompassed by racy acidity, with notes of fresh apples, citrus, saline and stone. Crushable factor = 10.
Food pairings: platters of freshly shucked oysters, lightly baked white fish and even a chicken kabob or two
