Winemaker Angela Osborne connects deeply with this single vineyard old-vine Grenache grown at 3200ft. and uses biodynamic principles to convert the energy of the land into something graceful but full of depth and complexity. A méthode champenoise sparkling wine of great vivacity and texture, Angela's winemaking intuitions are always on point across the entire spectrum of Grenache offerings.
2017 was the second limited production of the blanc de noirs, released in very very short supply - primarily to her wait-listed mailing list. A deep yellow color verging on a light orange hue, this bottling begins with aromas of rose petal, peach, white cherry, a kiss of honeydew and wet stone. The palate is tense and grippy with delicate bubbles frolicking across the palate leading a wave of fruit and minerality. Exciting and enticing from beginning to end and a formidable counter to grower Champagne from California's Central Coast and the Santa Barbara Highlands.
