Jumilla DOP
A small winery in the province of Murcia, in the southeast of Spain, that focuses on the dynamic grape Monastrell (also known as Mourvèdre in France). Farming practices are strictly organic and biodynamic and the average age of the vines is around 30 years old.
The warm and dry nature of the region helps to produce highly concentrated, powerful and robust reds. Very concentrated, overripe notes of plums, black currants and dark cherries are at the heart of this expressive bottling. There's delicate notes of violets, black pepper and Indian sandalwood in the background. The tannins dominate the structure of the wine and the plump fruit, in combination with the alcohol, leave an impression of a full-bodied and smooth red.
Try with bison medallions, chorizo paella, beef short ribs or lentil stew.
