Beaujolais, France
Morgon AOC
Noël Bulliat and his son Loïc, who joined the Domaine in 2005, run this family estate that covers 27 ha in 8 different appellations in the heart of the Beaujolais region. It all started in 1978 when Noël bought 4 ha of Beaujolais Villages straight after having graduated from viticultural school. The estate started switching to organic practices in 2010 and was officially certified in 2013.
A great Morgon with very soft tannins and a slender structure, aged in amphorae, to allow the wine to nourish itself with the air and to always be in movement during aging. It still retains a lot of brightness and fruit, which makes it a complete and balanced wine. A fruit-forward example with heaps of bramble, spicy cherry and tart cranberry over top of damp earth complexity. Soft and elegant with beautiful structure.
Beautiful to have a with plate of firm cheeses or a bistro classic of steak frites.
