Domaine Chapelle is a family estate that has been passed down from father to son for four generations. In 1923, they were the first in the commune of Santenay to bottle their wine rather than sell it in bulk to merchants, as was the custom. Today, the estate has 20 hectares of vines spread over the Côtes de Nuits and the Côtes de Beaune.
In 2002, after several years working at Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron and Domaine de la Pousse d'or, Yannick Jacrot arrived at the estate to take up the position of vineyard manager. For him, the transition to organic farming was necessary. As soon as he arrived, he began the conversion of certain plots. Domaine Chapelle finally obtained the Ecocert certification in its entirety in 2009. In the cellar, natural yeasts are used for fermentation and sulphur is reduced to a minimum.
