Hobo Wine Company, Chardonnay, 2021

California, USA
Sonoma Valley AVA

How does a skateboarder-turned-winemaker come to be a breakout talent in the California wine scene while working out of an industrial warehouse complex without owning any domaine or vineyard? And how does he come to name one of his many winery projects Hobo Wine Company? Honestly, not the strangest stuff we've heard in wine land. And these questions are key to understanding Kenny Likitprakong the person and winemaker.

Fast forward to 1998, after many years of travelling Europe and South America, Kenny ends up in Sonoma where he grew up. In 2002, he creates his first wine company, Hobo, as an homage to his nomadic travels despite objections from many in his life, including his father. In fact, he still hears lots of those objections today but Kenny has always felt it's the right fit and so they've stayed the course.

While Kenny doesn't own any vineyards for Hobo, he exclusively sources organic and biodynamic grapes from growers in the region and practices low-intervention winemaking at his warehouse cum experimental winery.

Crisp acidity, green apple and subtle aromas of buttered toast highlight this fresh and clean production. This is new age California winemaking at its finest.
