J. Brix, Limestone + Schist Chardonnay, 2019

J. Brix, Limestone + Schist Chardonnay, 2019

Rorick Heritage Vineyard, Calaveras County, California

The fifth vintage of this wine is every good thing about California in a bottle, ready to show why the Golden State is so confoundingly magic. From Matthew Rorick’s iconic Wente-clone vines, planted in 1974 on their own roots, which plunge deep into the soils of limestone and schist in the land of skulls.
This is a truly standout small-production Chardonnay that embodies what we love about California - it’s lemony, full of luscious tropical fruit goodness, and gives you loads of mineral delight and no overt oak. The Limestone + Schist Chardonnay is from organic own-rooted wines owned by Forlorn Hope’s Matthew Rorick, a good friend of winemakers Jody and Emily.
