Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC
The estate has been in the hands of Massimo since 2002, located on one of the best hills in Barbaresco for Nebbiolo production. All farming practices, winemaking techniques and production methods follow the traditional style of the region. After vinification and fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is refined in large Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months, a further 7 months in stainless steel tanks and, finally, 2 years in bottle to allow the wine to settle.
A deep ruby red colour with garnet reflections, there are violets, rose hips, aromatic herbs, sweet spices, cassis, ripe dark cherry and hints of overripe raspberry on the nose and palate. The finish is long and persistent, through a dry, full-bodied structure with firm tannins and pleasing acidity.
Nebbiolos are highly versatile and supremely food friendly wines that generally pair well with mushrooms, truffles, tomato-based sauces, pizzas, meatballs, slow-roasted beef, cured meats and blue cheeses.
