Michael Schmelzer is easily one of our favourite wine producers in Italy. Not only does he craft some of the best biodynamic wines in Tuscany but he has such a deft, almost ethereal touch to winemaking. Fiasco! is his homage to those red wines from the heart of Chianti that used to arrive in wicker baskets - the table wines that landed on many an Italian dinner table. With fruit sourced from all over the region, and crucially farmed organically, Michael applies a low-intervention style to create the fresh and juicy interpretation of those wicker-basketed reds. We absolutely adore these wines because they hit us right in the sweet spot for no-frills reds with substance. The Fiasco! wines will be your new go-tos for pizza and pasta and you don't have to worry about lighting any wicker on fire!
