Piedmont, Italy
The Benevelli family started in 1978 with 5 hectares in Monforte d’Alba producing wines that are some of the most sought after Piedmontese wines. Massimo, who began working in the vineyards at age 14, took over from his father Piero and has earned a reputation as one of the most talented winemakers in the area. These wines come in tiny allocations and express a purity of terroir, freshness and finesse.
Dolcetto spending six months in stainless steel tanks and aged in bottle for three. Crunchy blue and black fruit, violets, bright acidity. Silky soft tannins and mouth watering fruit. A real treasure. Unfined, unfiltered.
Pair with pasta carbonara, northern Italian cured salumi, or a plate of Venetian ciccheti snacks.
