Vina Valoria, Rioja Blanco, 2021

Viña Valoria, Tempranillo Blanco, 2021

Rioja, Spain
La Rioja Alta

Rioja is one of the world’s most famous wine growing regions and this winery, Bodegas Valoria, can brag that they’ve been producing wines from the area since the 60s….1860’s that is! That makes Valoria the fifth oldest producer in the region and one of only ten producers to be allowed to release “old vintages” from before 1980.

Tempranillo Blanco is a mutation of the more well-known varietal Tempranillo, that only grows in the Rioja. Typically, it is bottled as a single varietal or blended with Malvasia and/or Viura. The 2021 vintage of Tempranillo Blanco was blended with both Malvasia and Viura to give it a highly aromatic perception of pear, green apple, pineapple, lemon-lime citrus and a floral midpoint. Bright acidity helps balance the wide mouthfeel and leads through a refreshing, thirst-quenching finish.

Perfect with seafood and other light fare.
