This 3 pack contains one bottle of each of the following wines:
2021 Domaine de la Marinière La Peau de L'Ours
Chinon, France
Chinon AOC
This is one of the Desbourdes family's more "entry-level" Cabernet Francs but it's kinda misleading to understate it to that extent. Thanks to carbonic winemaking, this is exploding with an array of red fruits like a Moroccan fruit market. This is vivid and fun, ranging all that fruit over to a clean finish with green pepper (capsicum for you diploma-getters), flint and white peppercorn. Fresh and fruity, modern and easy-drinking. A (very) light chill will enhance the vibes.
2021 Domaine des Sanzay Domaine Rouge
Loire, France
Saumur-Champigny AOC
Naturally all Cabernet Franc, this is blended fro 3.5 hectares of parcels planted on clay limestone. The juice is fermented with natural yeasts and vinified in thermoregulated stainless steel with a gentle maceration lasting ten days and further maturation of six months before bottling. Garnet color with a pretty violet nose, small red berries and damsel plums on the round and smooth palate; a quintessential brassiere wine that is friendly to a variety of foods and tastes.
2018 Domaine les Enfants Sauvages Le Roi des Lézards
Roussillon, France
Côtes Catalanes IGP
100% Carignan from 90 year old vineyards, this is exceptional stuff from these 2 talented vignerons. This wine opens with fresh cherry and blackberry before evolving into a stewed version of the fruits with spices mingling in the background, leading into a liquorice note and hints of game meat. While lively, there are certainly crunchy, notable tannins that indicate a pretty tempting aging potential of at least 8 years. All said, this is a true testament to the capabilities of Carignan as a monovarietal bottling of significant quality. Drink with charcuterie or flame-grilled meats.
